About SHIKAHACHI
Our story
The “Tour de East Japan — Kashima to Hachinohe 800km”, nicknamed SHIKAHACHI, started in 2014. From Kashima Jingū Shrine in Ibaraki, riders cycle 800 km up the Pacific coast through Fukushima, Miyagi and Iwate to Kabushima Shrine in Hachinohe, Aomori, over seven riding days.
History
Born in the years after the Great East Japan Earthquake, SHIKAHACHI rides the coast it honours. From 2026 the journey is structured into two Arcs — Jōban and Sanriku — so riders can join by fitness and schedule, on the full tour, a single arc, or one stage.
